Conference Rooms, Wi-Fi, Cameras and Door Access for Small Businesses
If you run an office or a shop in Forest Park, Oak Park, River Forest, Riverside or nearby, the technology has to work without a full-time IT person. One licensed local team plans and installs it all: the meeting room screen and sound, the business network and Wi-Fi, security cameras and door access. Before we recommend anything, we come out, walk the space and ask how your people use it on a normal day. A single meeting room and a full fit-out get the same approach.
A small conference room set up so anyone can start a meeting with one tap.
Conference rooms that are easy to run
The room in the photo is one we installed. A screen hangs on the wall with a video bar under it, a touch panel on the table starts and runs calls, speakers sit in the ceiling, and a cable cubby is built into the tabletop.
- A screen or projector, and an easy way to show a laptop
- Sound that people on the far end of a video call can hear clearly
- Controls your staff can figure out on day one
- Power and laptop cables that come up through the table instead of running across the floor
Decisions like these are simpler before the ceiling is finished and the table is ordered. Early on we ask how many people usually join calls from the room and where they sit, where the cables should surface on the table, and which staff member will be running the room each day.
Displays for lobbies, background music and the rest of our business AV work are on Commercial AV and security.
Business Wi-Fi and networks
- Your staff, your guests and your devices each get their own network
- Wi-Fi access points located to match your floor plan
- Cabled connections for the cameras, screens and other gear the business depends on
- Equipment chosen to fit the space, often Ubiquiti or something comparable, without tying you to one brand
See Networking and Wi-Fi.
Cameras for the front door, the register and the back room
- Coverage at the doors, the parking area, the register and the work spaces
- Live and recorded video on your phone
- Designed alongside the network, so recording and remote viewing hold up
See Security cameras.
Access control for offices and shared doors
- Your own suite or office door, open to staff while visitors are handled separately
- Hallway and common doors in a shared building, with credentials that suit how people move through it
- Door schedules for evenings and weekends, after the front is closed
- Fobs, cards, keypad codes or a phone app, and you can add or remove anyone's access as staff change
See Access control.
Alarms and monitoring
A business alarm from us is watched by a professional central station around the clock, and you can control it with the Alarm.com app. We look at cameras and door access on the same visit, so the whole security plan is worked out at once. See Alarm monitoring.
Moving in or building out?
Cable is easiest to place while ceilings and walls are still open. On a tenant build-out we work alongside the owner, the general contractor and the electrician, so the runs for speakers, screens, cameras, door hardware and the network land in the right spots. If a contractor is running your job, our builders page explains how we fit in, and the prewire process lays out the steps in order.
After the install
Our work doesn't end when the job is finished. We add new users, adjust camera views, answer your questions and come back out when something needs a look.
Close by, and licensed
We started Acoustical Vision in 2009, and Forest Park is home base. Alarm and security jobs are handled by our licensed company, Acoustical Vision Security LTD, under Illinois Private Alarm Contractor license 124.002139. Offices and shops in Forest Park, Oak Park, River Forest, Riverside and the rest of the western suburbs are close by, and we also come to sites across Chicagoland by appointment.
Questions from business owners
Do you take on small business jobs?
Yes. That covers offices and shops of any size, whether you need one meeting room, a couple of cameras or a full fit-out where the AV, security and network are planned at the same time.
Can you set up one conference room, not the whole office?
Yes. We look at how the room gets used, then plan the screen, sound, controls and cabling for it.
Can you separate guest Wi-Fi from our staff network?
Yes. Staff, guests and devices each get their own network, and the access points are placed around your floor plan.
Should we plan the alarm, the cameras and the doors at the same time?
Yes. The alarm is professionally monitored and runs from an app, and we look at cameras and door access on the same visit.
Our space is under construction. Can you coordinate with our GC?
Yes. We line up with the owner, the general contractor and the electrician so the cable is in place before the walls and ceilings are closed.
Do you hold a license for alarm and security work?
Yes. The license is held by Acoustical Vision Security LTD, number 124.002139, as an Illinois Private Alarm Contractor.
